Biography

Prof. Dr. Ibtihal Kadhim Kareem is a distinguished Professor of Inorganic Chemistry with over two decades of dedicated contributions to chemical research and academic leadership. She currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Kufa for Chemical Sciences.Prof. Dr. Kareem earned her B.Sc. (2000) and M.Sc. (2008) in Chemistry from the Faculty of Education for Girls at the University of Kufa, followed by a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the College of Science at Babylon University (2016).A prolific researcher, she has published more than 40 scientific papers, including over 10 indexed in Scopus and Clarivate Analytics, and over 30 in renowned platforms like PubMed and local journals. At the university level, she instructs undergraduate students in foundational inorganic chemistry and teaches graduate students advanced electronic spectroscopy and the coordination chemistry of macrocyclic compounds. As an active research mentor, she has successfully supervised numerous M.Sc. and Ph.D. candidates, driving innovation in targeted, metal-based therapeutics.
